ABU & MO:
TWO ORPHANS

ABOUT

A fictionalized story inspired by true events. “Mo”, a blind Muslim man, and “Abu” a Jewish man living with dwarfism, lived and worked together; their companionship allowed them to survive.

This film was funded by the Edmonton Arts Council and Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

1844 Studios offered an introductory animation mentorship program as part of the creation of this film. Four candidates from Edmonton were chosen to partake in this program.

In this seminar, participants received a 2-hour workshop with an award-winning animator, an animation assignment with guidance from the mentor, an honorarium, as well as an IMDB credit.

This program was led by brilliant mentor, Perry Shulak. Perry has applied his skills as a designer to over 60 comprehensive educational resource projects that included print, video and interactive media. He has been recognized through his efforts with six awards from Alberta New Media, nominations from the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association, and Alberta Gold and Bronze Premier awards.
